March 16, 2026, Marshall Islands__<\/strong>President Heine is ensuring continued maritime moxie for the Marshall Islands with new levels of technical training and energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Heine recently received a courtesy visit from the Midshipmen Cruising and Training Squadron from Taiwan. The delegation from Taipei was led by Rear Admiral Chen Ming-Feng, Commander of the Squadron, naval officers, along with Taiwan\u2019s Ambassador to the Marshall Islands, Herbert Hsu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond naval technical support and training, Heine thanked the, \u201cdelegation\u2019s donation of sports equipment to the Public School System (PSS) and extended her well wishes for the upcoming goodwill volleyball and basketball games between the Republic of the Marshall Islands and the Republic of China (Taiwan),\u201d according to a statement from the Office of the President, Republic of the Marshall Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond Taipei, Heine is advancing regional maritime and energy security and social support, with strong participation in the Indo-Pacific Energy Security Ministerial and Business Forum (IPEM) on March 14\u201315, 2026, in Tokyo, Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Co-hosted with Japan\u2019s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, the United States\u2019 National Energy Dominance Council, U.S. Trade and Development Agency and other U.S. government partners, the Marshalls is moving to, \u201cstrengthen partnerships, unlock investment, and promote resilient and secure energy supply chains in the region,\u201d according to a statement from the Office of the President, Republic of the Marshall Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These moves in regional energy and security partnerships are particularly timely following a drone strike by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps earlier this week in the Straight of Hormuz on the Marshall Islands flagged ship Safe Sia<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
