May 6, 2026, Federated States of Micronesia<\/strong>__Chuuk welcomed 50 medical personnel from the United States Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) who are delivering, \u201cservices in ophthalmology, dentistry, physical therapy, and public health through direct patient care,\u201d according to a statement from the Office of the President, Federated States of Micronesia<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It adds, \u201cThe Pacific Angel Medical Exercise brings together regional and international partners to deliver humanitarian assistance, strengthen healthcare capacity, and reinforce cooperation across the Pacific.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was officiated. y President Simina on Weno Island in Chuuk Lagoon with Colonel Elizabeth G. Gibby, Medical Group Commander at Andersen Air Force Base;,Lieutenant Colonel Nicholas Grader, U.S. Embassy Defense Attach\u00e9, Lieutenant Colonel Chuck Gomes, Pacific Angel Mission Commander, and local officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

President Simina said, \u201cToday marks not just the launch of a humanitarian mission, but the enduring strength of partnerships anchored in our shared commitment to the well-being of our people.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added the urgency of the mission in the wake of ongoing recovery from Typhoon Sinlaku. Going to press, the U.S. Embassy Kolonia gaving a weather warning of a tropical depression forming. It says<\/a>, the \u201cThe storm is near Weno and heading west toward Yap. Islands in central\/western Chuuk and all of Yap are areas of concern for the next 3-5 days and may have dangerously heavy rain, winds, and waves.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
