June 24, 2026, Palau__Palau has announced a new partnership with Forward Edge-AI, an AI Cybersecurity company, to deploy next generation post-quantum encryption technology to protect government and citizens from state backed or transnational organized crime executed hacks and scams.
President Whipps Jr.’s office said that a “proof of concept” had been conducted with tests for “a system called Isidore, which encrypts government data as it moves across networks — helping protect sensitive communications from cyber threats, including those posed by future quantum computers.”
The statement added, “The test confirmed that Isidore could:
–Securely encrypt data moving between government network segments
–Serve as a modern replacement for older VPN systems
–Work smoothly with existing security and monitoring tools
–Be deployed without disrupting day-to-day government operations
In recent years, more sophisticated cyber attacks have hit Palau’s hospital and other government sites, with arrests also of foreign nationals being arrested for running illegal scam centers in local hotels, with cybersecurity a regional concern for Pacific Islands.
According to the statement, tests of Isidore, “also identified next steps for full deployment, including staff training, equipment upgrades, and new security procedures — giving Palau a clear roadmap forward. Mesulang to the team at Forward Edge-AI for their expertise and partnership throughout this project. Palau looks forward to continuing this work together to safeguard government data and strengthen national cybersecurity.”
