July 1, 2026, Federated States of Micronesia__The National Weather Service Guam and Joint Typhoon Warning Center have raised the risk level of Invest 95W to a Tropical Depression 09W (TD 09W) as of 2pm ChST.

It is presently moving with west 12mph with winds of 30ph, about 245 miles north of Kosrae and about 1265 miles east-southeast of Guam.

This morning they had put out a Tropical Cyclone Formation Alert on it.

They are advising the Marshall Islands and FSM of, “Heavy rainfall and gusty winds are occurring in the far northwestern Marshall Islands near Enewetak. Gusty winds and periods of locally heavy showers are still possible for Pohnpei & Kosrae as the center TD 09W passes to the north and heavy rain bands continue to move around the system while surging west winds south of TD 09W continue across Kosrae, Pohnpei, and Chuuk State.”

For Guam and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands they warn to, “Continue to monitor the latest forecast and communications from NWS Guam and local emergency management. Plan and prepare for possible impacts from a passing tropical cyclone. The level of impacts and potential intensity is still under analysis as this system evolves over the next 4 days. Plan and Prepare now while local weather conditions are fair and favorable.”

They advise continued monitoring:
